So what is an ultrasound ?

A prenatal ultrasound uses a transducer to deliver high frequency sound waves . Echos of the sound waves are recorded and transformed into pictures . A gel is applied to the belly and transducer before the scan which helps conduct the sound waves . 2D and 3D are still images .4D adds motion and dimension so it looks like a video.HD adds more realism .

FAQs

Home: FAQ

Can I bring family and friends ?

Absolutely! We actually encourage our clients to invite up to 10 adult guests . Children are also welcome . For family and friends who can’t be there you are more than welcome to FaceTime them during the ultrasound.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

Yes ! We have a ramp into the building and ADA approved restrooms .

Does insurance cover 4D ultrasounds ?

Unfortunately they don’t . Most insurances only cover the cost of diagnostic ultrasound . They don’t pay for the reassurance or bonding sadly . This is considered elective .We accept cash, debit , credit cards.

Are 4D ultrasounds safe ?

Yes they are ! We adhere to the ARDMS and FDA standards . Over 40 years of testing and following proper use of ultrasound has shown zero effects on baby or mother . If you have concerns please discuss with your OBGYN.

Will I get good pictures ?

Not always . Sometimes the baby doesn’t cooperate . The scans depend on your fluid intake , gestational age and the baby’s position. We strive to get the best pictures we can . We also offer rescans at no additional cost if your baby is being shy .

When is the best time to have elective ultrasounds done ?

1st visit = 6-7 weeks;  2nd visit = 8-12 weeks; 3rd visit = 13-20 weeks; 4th visit =21-26 weeks 5th visit=27-33weeks 5th visit=34-38 weeks

Can I take pictures and videos ?

Yes ! We encourage it !! You can FaceTime , record live or just sit back and relax . All packages come with pictures .

Does the ultrasounds provided by Bonding Moments replace my maternity doctor ?

Ultrasounds provided by Bonding Moments have no medical purpose and no medical reports will be generated . Our intent is only to allow families and friends to bond and have an amazing and unforgettable experience with your baby . We do provide heartbeat . Please keep in mind this does not replace your diagnostic ultrasounds provided by your doctor . WE DO NOT OFFER INTERNAL VAGINAL ULTRASOUNDS. This is considered invasive and something your OBGYN could do for you.

Cancellation policy

You have 24 hours to cancel or reschedule .  We do have a no show fee of 30.00 .

What are hours of operation ?

Hours of operation are 11-6pm open Thursday, Friday , Saturday, and Tuesday . We are now open on Sundays 11Am- 5pm.! If for some reason you require another day of the week or time just let us know and we can make every effort to accommodate your needs .

Tips on how to get the best bonding experience

1) Book your session 2) Arrive 10 minutes early to sign registration and consent forms . 3) Water !!! Drink 64-84 ounces a day for a week prior to your appointment. 4) Only fill bladder if baby is less than 10 weeks old .5) Everything hinges on the amniotic fluid or the fluid around the baby. Baby’s with more fluid tend to move more . The water increases the transparenc off the fluid. So being well hydrated is key . 6) Bring loved ones , family , friends , and children! 7)Eat before your appointment , just a light snack . 8)Unfortunately there is no guarantee that your baby will cooperate . If this happens we will set up for a rescan . 9)If you drove more than a hour drink something cold and sugary . Try to wake the baby up .

What can I expect during my visit ?

During your visit you will sign any paperwork required . Feel free to peruse the Mommy & Me Boutique where you will find natural organic products safe for mommy . Lotions , aromatherapy, anti nausea products , photo albums , etc. Once your appointment has started you will be taken to a room with comfy leather couches that recline and a special bed for just you . There is a chair for any support member of your group . We will shut the lights down and project your baby onto a 86in flatscreen TV. Before you leave you will be given Pictures of your choice and all other pictures and videos will be sent via email..

When will I get my pictures and video?

We send all videos and photos directly to your email after your scan is complete.

How can I prepare my baby for the photoshoot?

Drink lots of water 5-7 days prior to your appointment. Fetal position is the number one determination of image quality . Some babies come ready to show off while others can get shy. Sometimes the baby turns into your back or will burry their face in the placenta . Little hands and feet can further obstruct the baby’s face. A rescan can be scheduled.

Do the technicians have training ?

All of our Imaging technicians have been specifically trained to do prenatal ultrasound imaging . We use state of the art ultrasound equipment that is specially calibrated for OB and fetal imaging .

What is Sneek Peek DNA? And does it hurt ?

Bonding Moments offers an early gender DNA detection test to women starting at 6 weeks into pregnancy. We work in conjunction with Gateway Genomics to offer Sneak Peek DNA Clinical. Results are available 2-3 days after the lab receives your sample or the next evening if you choose to Fast Track for an additional $20 fee. You will receive an email with your results.

The Sneak Peek DNA Clinical test utilizes the natural process of shared fetal DNA circulating inside the mother's bloodstream. PCR technology can detect the presence or absence of male Y chromosome in the blood sample. If it is detected, then the baby's gender is male and if it is not detected then the baby's gender is female. The best part is its painless. We do ask if you have small childeren to have someone come with you . We can have no male DNA in the room due to cross contamination.
